2026 WASSCE: COMMISIONER CHARGES EDUCATION OFFICERS TO UPHOLD INTEGRITY
In preparation for the registration of 2026 West African Secondary School Certificate Examination, Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu has charged Education Officers to uphold emulative integrity so as to ensure proper documentation devoid of sharp practices.
Prof. Arigbabu gave the charge while meeting with the Directors, Zonal Education Officers, Zonal Portal Administrators and West Africa Examination Certificate Desk Officers in Abeokuta, saying they should guide against creating loop holes for any form of manipulation or malpractices while discharging their duties.
He directed them to pass across adequate information to all schools that would register learners for WASSCE this year, concerning clearance and payment, adding that registration would only be approved for eligible learners that have been documented on Ogun State Digital Platform for Education Revitalisation (OgunDIPER).
The Commissioner further noted that all sensitive issues should be reported to either his office or the office of the Permanent Secretary for necessary attention.
"We are charging you to be more firm, don't take chances but remain focused, vigilant and assertive, ensure you're not involved in any implicative activities" The commissioner advised.
Responding on behalf of others, the Zonal Education Officer, Abeokuta South, Mrs Omosola Lawal, commended the Commissioner on the developmental initiatives and policies brought to revitalise the education sector, assured of their continued support and loyalty to ensure the sector is taken to a more desirable level.
