 SANGO OTA YOUTH COUNCIL REAFFIRMS SUPPORT FOR AAMO, YAYI 2027 AGENDA

Youth leaders from the Joju Alishiba Zone of Sango-Ota have reaffirmed their commitment to working with the AAMO Movement and supporting Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.

The youth leaders made their position known during a welcome visit to Prince Abiodun Akinboyede, Esq., Founder and Convener of the AAMO Movement, where they discussed grassroots engagement, youth participation and the political direction of the community ahead of the 2027 elections.

Their visit adds to a growing pattern of grassroots engagement around AAMO in Ado-Odo/Ota. At an earlier town-hall meeting, the Sango-Ota Youth Council and other community groups publicly expressed support for Adeola, while AAMO subsequently launched a door-to-door campaign structure designed to deepen community-level engagement.

Responding to the youth leaders, Akinboyede encouraged them to remain committed to their chosen political direction while stressing the importance of taking political conversations beyond meetings and into communities.

He urged the youths to engage residents directly, listen to their concerns and communicate political programmes and ideas responsibly.

According to him, meaningful political participation should involve sustained engagement with people at the grassroots rather than occasional appearances during election periods.

He also spoke about the importance of continuity in governance and expressed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's 2027 re-election bid, while encouraging the youths to participate actively in the democratic process.

For the youth leaders, the visit represented more than a courtesy call. It was an opportunity to strengthen their relationship with the AAMO Movement and discuss how young people can participate more actively in community and political affairs.

Their proposed grassroots engagement includes direct interaction with residents, community sensitisation and conversations around the 2027 political agenda.

The emphasis on grassroots mobilisation reflects a broader strategy already being pursued by political support groups in Ogun West. The Ogun West Professionals for Yayi, for instance, has also been undertaking voter education, media engagement and sensitisation activities across the district.

The 2027 political contest has increasingly become linked to the longstanding aspiration of Ogun West to produce a governor. In February 2026, Ogun West Professionals publicly endorsed Adeola while also calling for unity among political stakeholders across the district.

Adeola's campaign platform currently presents him as the APC's consensus candidate for the 2027 Ogun governorship election and places significant emphasis on grassroots development and statewide engagement.

Against this backdrop, the latest engagement involving the Sango-Ota Youth Council and AAMO highlights the increasing involvement of community organisations in the political conversation ahead of 2027.

For Akinboyede, the message is clear: whatever political choices individuals and groups make, sustained grassroots engagement, responsible communication and participation will remain central to the electoral conversation.

The road to 2027 is increasingly being shaped not only in political offices, but also through conversations taking place within communities across Ogun State.
