The newly Executive Chairman, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Lawal, and the Legislative arm of the council, have pledged to work together to dish out various  developmental initiatives aimed at improving the socio-economic development and well-being of residents in the area.


The Executive Chairman, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Lawal made this declaration during the inauguration of Honourable Members of the legislative council at their Chamber, Secretariat in Ota .

The LG Boss  charged the 16 inaugurated members to deliberate on initiatives that would bring about democratic progress in the council urging the newly inaugurated councilors to prioritise transparency, accountability and welfare of the people in the discharge of their legislative duties.

Lawal promised that the new administration would execute   developmental projects and implement programmes that would improve peoples’ standard of living.

 He called for workers’ cooperation in achieving the electioneering promises for the people through dedication and diligence, assuring the staffers of prompt attention to their welfare.

Lawal appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for the opportunity to serve, solicited for peoples’ support, particularly traditional rulers, for  the success of the present administration.










In his Acceptance Speech, Leader of the House, Hon. Gbadamosi Mutairu ACA, said the 16th Legislative Council was ready to work for the development of the area, foster inclusivity and progress, while carrying out their constitutiona
l duties, assuring that over all interest of the people would be their watchword.
He said the 9th legislative council commenced their legislative functions by electing the principal officers. Where Hon. Gbadamosi Mutairu from Ilogbo ward emerged as the Leader of the House, Hon. Oseni Lateef  Alapoti ward as the Deputy Leader, Hon. Bankole Surajudeen Igbesa ward as the Majority Leader and Hon. Noimat Balogun Ota III as the Chief Whip.
According to him,"Today marks a milestone in our political history. Hence, we are ready to make a positive history for the entire people of the Council area. Like the State acronyms, ISE IYA, we shall strive hard to see that the development of Ado Odo Ota Local Government through the dividend of democracy is widely spread to all nooks and crannies of the Council area. Let me say emphatically that we shall make you all proud through achievements at the end of our tenure".


In his remarks, the Clerk of the House, Mr. Isikalu Goriola enjoined the councilors to see their emergence as a call to serve the people of Ijebu-Ode and the state at large.
