 GOV. ABIODUN'S EDUCATION REPOSITIONING MISSION CONTINUES TILL LAST DAY IN OFFICE- COMMISSIONER

Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, has affirmed that the educational sector repositioning mission of Prince Dapo Abiodun's administration will continue till the very last day in office.

Prof. Arigbabu, gave the affirmation after a facility tour visit to Government Technical and vocational College, Isabo and monitoring of Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to some schools in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of the State, emphasising government commitment to the revitalisation of schools and making them retain their pride of place when it comes to academic excellence.

The Commissioner noted that his visit to the Technical College was to monitor the installation of the gadgets that were acquired by the State government, such as embellishments, monogramming and sewing equipment, noting that he was impressed with the qualities of the machines that were procured.

"The procurement of the quality and world standard equipment is one of the things that has actually positioned Ogun State as a model that other States are coming to understudy. Today we are number one in Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) and we have to appreciate our Governor for his investment to achieve that", Arigbabu said.

He also said the monitoring of BECE gave his team the opportunity to see some schools that needed interventions in certain areas, promising to carry out notable rehabilitation and classrooms building projects before learners resume for the next academic session.

Prof. Arigbabu, therefore expressed his satisfaction over the proactiveness of school principals, the decorum maintained by the learners and the timely and adequate supply of examination materials by the designated department in the Ministry of Education that was saddled with the conduct of the examination.

The Principal of Anglican Girls' Grammar School (Jnr.), Onikolobo, Mrs. Francisca Adebajo and her counterpart in Nawair-ud-deen High School, Oke-Ijeun, Mr. Wasiu Lawal appreciated the Commissioner for the doggedness in ensuring that the teaching and learning environment were made conducive and for promoting the legacy of the founding fathers of education in the State.

Schools visited were St. John's Anglican High School, Kuto, Anglican Girls' Grammar School, Onikolobo, Nawair-ud-deen High School, Oke-Ijeun and Government Technical and Vocational College, Isabo.
