2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION: OGSG ANNOUNNCES APPLICATIONS INTO TECHNICAL COLLEGES


The Ogun State Government, through the Ogun State Technical and Vocational Education Board (OGSTVEB), has announced the commencement of applications for admission into Government Technical Colleges (GTCs) and the Government Technical and Vocational College (GTVC) for the 2026/2027 academic session.


According to the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, the initiative was part of the State Government’s continued commitment to equipping young people with practical, technical and vocational skills that would enhance employability, entrepreneurship and economic development.


Prof. Arigbabu, noted that registration would remain open till 18th August, advising prospective candidates to complete their registration within the stipulated period, saying, no extension would be granted after the deadline.


 He encouraged interested applicants to take advantage of the opportunity to acquire industry-relevant skills through the State’s technical and vocational education institutions.


The Commissioner further disclosed the eligibility for admission, noted that applicants must possess either a Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) certificate or a Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE/NECO SSCE) certificate and were required to apply for their preferred trade and college through the Ogun State Digital Education Platform (DiPER).


He explained that applicants should access the DiPER portal using their Learner Identification Number (LIN) credentials and complete the online application process. He added that parents or guardians registering candidates from outside Ogun State must present their LIN to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) for validation before proceeding with the registration process.


Arigbabu, further emphasised that the application process was completely free of charge, warning prospective applicants and parents against making payments to unauthorised individuals or agents.


Accordingly, he revealed that registered candidates would be required to participate in a screening test and were expected to present their printed registration slips as entry pass on the day of the screening exercise, while the date would be announced subsequently.


Prof. Arigbabu, therefore reaffirmed the Ogun State Government’s commitment to enhancing technical and vocational education as a vital tool for youth empowerment, innovation, job creation and sustainable economic development, imploring members of the public to contact the Ogun State Technical and Vocational Education Board through its official helpline, 08033859841 for additional information or enquiries.
