OGSTVEB BOSS CHARGES PRINCIPALS, TEACHERS, STUDENTS ON EXCELLENCE
Principals, teachers and students in Ogun State’s technical colleges have been urged to remain committed to excellence, discipline and academic productivity as the new academic session begins.
The Acting Executive Secretary of the Ogun State Technical and Vocational Education Board (OGSTVEB), Mrs. Mojisola Adenowo, gave the charge while leading the Board’s management team on a monitoring exercise across the State’s technical colleges and other skills acquisition centers. She said that the exercise was aimed not only to assess resumption and staff readiness, but also at reinforcing a culture of quality teaching, effective learning and responsible school management.
Mrs. Adenowo, described the initiative as a strategic step towards ensuring a smooth, productive and successful academic session, noting that school administrators, teaching staff and students should uphold high standards in teaching, learning and character development.
She therefore implored Principals to provide strong leadership, maintain high standards and foster a conducive learning environment for both staff and students, while she advised the teachers to remain dedicated to their duties, adopt innovative teaching methods and continue to inspire learners through professionalism and commitment.
Mrs. Adenowo also advised the students to take their studies seriously, maintain discipline and maximise the technical and vocational opportunities available to them, as the skills and knowledge they acquired would play a vital role in shaping their future careers and contributions to society.
OGSTVEB boss noted, that the monitoring exercise was designed to assess each school’s preparedness for the new term, evaluate the resumption process and ensure compliance with established academic and administrative standards, adding that it would also provide an opportunity for the Board to inspect facilities, review instructional delivery, monitor students’ attendance and identify areas requiring support and intervention.
The Acting Executive Secretary reaffirmed OGSTVEB’s commitment to strengthening Technical and Vocational Education in Ogun State through regular supervision, quality assurance and sustained collaboration with school administrators and other stakeholders, just as she expressed confidence in the collective efforts of principals, teachers, students and parents.
The Technical Colleges and skills acquisition centers visited during the exercise included Government Science and Technical College, Ayetoro, Government Science and Technical College, Ijebu-Ode, Government Science and Technical College, Ilara-Remo, Government Science and Technical College, Ajegunle.
Others were the Government Science and Technical College, Igbesa, Government Science and Technical College, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Government Technical and Vocational College, Isabo, Abeokuta and Government Science Technical College, Ijebu-Igbo ,Iperu Skills Acquisition Centre and Ilishan Skills Acquisition Centre .
