 ABIODUN’S EDUCATIONAL LEGACY: OGUN COMMISSIONS NEW SCHOOL INFRASTRUCTURE IN OTA 

In fulfillment of its promise towards making the school and academic environment conducive and enhance learners' performance, the Ogun State government has built and commissioned Two Blocks of 8 Classrooms at Local Government Commercial Secondary School, Atan, Ota.


The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, during the commissioning and handing over ceremony, said the project was domiciled under the vision of Ogun Rehabilitation of Halls and Academic Buildings (OgunREHAB), in all government citadel of learning, with the  aim of making the education environment more comfortable for staff and learners at all levels.

Prof. Arigbabu, recalled that the administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun through OgunREHAB had constructed not less than 8 Blocks of 32 Classrooms, renovated school halls and classrooms, erected perimeter fencing and equipped laboratories with new and world class apparatus and many more.

The Commissioner appealed to learners to put the building into good use for government to be encouraged to do more, as he called on all and sundry to support the government in whatever capacity, in its efforts at turning around all schools across the State.

"The projects we are commissioning today includes 8 well-built modern classrooms with provision for electricity and white marker boards. We assure you of supply of enough furniture to enable the students learn well", Arigbabu disclosed.

Earlier in her welcome address, Permanent Secretary in the Education Ministry, Mrs. Oluwatosin Oloko noted that students and learners would forever be grateful to Prince Abiodun's administration for embarking on projects that would make life bearable for different categories of learners.

 Stakeholders and parents took turns to appreciate the present administration for the active investment in learners, teachers and school the environment to enable the State sustain the legacy of the founding fathers.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu also visited Iyewa High School, Ajilete, where he commissioned a perimeter fencing, renovated 3 blocks of classrooms, toilet facilities and bore hole for water supply at Iyewa High School, Ajilete facilitated by the Commander, Nigerian Army Corps of Engineers, Major General Shamsideen Shafau, as he appreciated the Nigerian Army for keying into school developmental agenda of the government.

Highlighting the importance of the donation, Chairman, Yewa South Local Government Area, Hon. Abraham Ogunsola, said the fence would provide security, while the classrooms and the bore-hole would aid learning in a conducive academic environment for students and staff alike.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to the Commissioner, Prof. Arigbabu, Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Oloko and the newly appointed Special Assistant to the Governor on Education, Hon. Idowu Daniel
