The Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu FCA, has emphasized the importance of prioritizing population growth issues and sensitizing stakeholders across communities to achieve a successful national census. 


He made this declaration during a visit by the Hon. Federal Commissioner of the National Population Commission (NPC), Dr. Otunba Fasua Abayomi Johnson, and his team, to his office at the secretariat in Ota.


Hon. Wasiu assured that his administration will give full cooperation to the NPC to ensure a smooth census exercise, stressing the significance of accurate population data for national development. "We will give our full support to the NPC to ensure the success of the census exercise," he said.


Dr. Fasua highlighted the need for enlightenment and awareness campaigns to prevent fraudulent registration practices that could compromise the integrity of national data. 


He urged residents to participate actively in the census exercise, which aims to provide accurate population data for national development.


According to him "the NPC team visit is part of preparations for the upcoming National Population Census, which is expected to play a critical role in shaping the country's development agenda. Residents of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government are urged to participate actively and provide accurate information to ensure the success of the exercise,"he said.



The State Director of NPC, Dr. Adenuga Olayinka, advised Hon. Wasiu to establish a mini-committee headed by the Comptroller NPC Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government to aid the success of the forthcoming census exercise at the local level. "Accurate population data is crucial for national development," he emphasized.
