Amotekun Foils Robbery Attempt, Saves Gunshot Victim in Ogun State





The Ogun State Security Network, also known as Amotekun, has thwarted a daring robbery attempt in Akinale Town, Ifo Local Government Area, in the early hours of Saturday, June 7, 2025. 

A team of Amotekun operatives from the Ewekoro Command responded swiftly to a distress call at around 1:20 AM and arrived at the scene to find the thieves attempting to flee in their vehicle.

The robbers, who had shot a 28-year-old man, Opeyemi Olusanya, in the upper region of his left limb, escaped into the nearby bush, leaving behind their operational vehicle, a wine-colored Kia Cerato with registration number KRD 840 JS. 

The vehicle has been handed over to the Itori Division of the Nigeria Police, who are collaborating with Amotekun to investigate the robbery and track down the escaped robbers.

The gunshot victim, Olusanya, has been transported to a private hospital in Obada-Oko for urgent medical attention. The local community has praised the prompt and proactive action of the Ogun State Amotekun Corps, highlighting their commitment to protecting citizens and ensuring safety and security in the state.



The Amotekun Corps has demonstrated its effectiveness in responding to distress calls and foiling criminal activities, and the community's appreciation for their efforts is a testament to their hard work and dedication.

 The investigation into the robbery is ongoing, and the authorities are working to bring the perpetrators to justice.
