Comedienne, Anita Alaire Asuoha, popularly known as Real Warri Pikin has stated phrases such as “Men must always be men”, “boys must always be boys” have led to severe suffering in marriages.

The comic act in her distinct Warri pidgin stated these clichés used for the masculine gender has led to their continued deterioration of character which ends up affecting their wives negatively when they eventually get married.

According to the mother of two, over time society has subconsciously normalised and accepted the shady behaviours of boys till they grow older to become men.

The media personality urged for an overhauling of orientation especially in the upbringing of the male child.

She said: “Men must always be men. He’s a boy, boys must always be boys. You see that word, that word dey worry minds ehn. That word don make many women suffer for horror film aka marriage.
