 OGUN GOVT URGES PARENTS TO STRENGTHEN PARTNERSHIP WITH SCHOOLS

Parents and guardians have been called upon to build stronger relationships with school administrators and teachers for holistic learning outcomes.

Chairman of Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Apostle ‘Biodun Sanyaolu, made the call during a radio programme in Abeokuta, saying effective learning required joint responsibility between homes and schools.

Apostle Sanyaolu, emphasised the need to instill moral values to learners, said parents should be more responsible and work closely with schools to support academic success of learners' in their educational pursuit.

‘’To reinforce discipline and moral values, I have directed public secondary schools in the State to reintroduce the recitation of the 'Ìṣe Lógún Ìṣe ' rhythm  on the Assembly ground  to serve as guide to learners,’’  he said.

Sanyaolu, noted that the Ogun State government had provided a conducive environment for teaching and learning, adding that TESCOM remained committed to the capacity development and welfare of teaching staff.

He expressed concern over the rising cases of indiscipline in Public Secondary Schools, disclosing that a stakeholders’ meeting would soon be convened to tackle emerging challenges and chart a way forward.
