Ogun 2027: KBJ Mobilises 16 Wards in Ado-Odo/Ota for Yayi, APC Candidates

The build-up to the 2027 general elections in Ogun State gathered momentum on Friday, October 9, 2026, as a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholder, Hon. Kelani Bolaji, popularly known as KBJ, unveiled a grassroots mobilisation initiative to support the party’s candidates across Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.
The initiative, tagged Grassroots Voters Support for APC, was launched at a ceremony attended by party leaders, political stakeholders and supporters representing the 16 wards in the local government area.
According to Bolaji, the initiative is designed to strengthen the APC’s grassroots presence, mobilise voters at the ward level and secure electoral victories for the party’s candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Among those expected to benefit from the mobilisation drive is the APC’s Ogun State governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.
Bolaji, the son of the late Chief Kelani, a respected APC figure, has remained active in the party’s political activities in Ado-Odo/Ota. His latest initiative is aimed at consolidating the party’s existing support base and encouraging greater participation among residents ahead of the polls.
The calibre of political figures who attended the unveiling underscored the significance of the initiative within the local APC structure.
Prominent attendees included former Ogun State Commissioner, Hon. Aare Olayiwola Taiwo; APC candidate for Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency, Hon. Olanrewaju Bashorun, popularly known as Laribash; and the party’s candidate for Ota State Constituency I, Hon. Oludegun Abayomi Okikiola.
Others were Chief Duro Ayedogbon, a prominent APC leader; Chief J. J. Akeran, APC chairman in Ado-Odo/Ota; Hon. Leye Odunjo, a former Ogun State House of Assembly member and Senior Legislative Aide to the Deputy Senate President; and Hon. Kayode Taiwo, an APC stalwart.
Also present were Hon. Jamiu Ajayi, former chairman of Atan Local Council Development Area; Hon. Bankole Solomon, Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President; Princess Feyikemi Egbeyemi, a women-in-politics leader; Alhaji Wasiu Dauda Oludegun; Prince Rasheed Ajibose, a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council; Hon. Gilbert Olumuyiwa, Ijoko Apex Leader; and Chief Fatai Wasiu, alongside other party faithful.
Speaking at the event, party stakeholders commended Bolaji for initiating the grassroots mobilisation framework, describing it as a strategic step towards strengthening the APC’s organisational structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
The stakeholders emphasised the importance of sustained engagement with voters and effective coordination among party members at the ward level.
The ceremony ended with participants reaffirming their commitment to intensifying grassroots mobilisation, including door-to-door campaigns across the 16 wards of Ado-Odo/Ota, in support of the APC and its candidates.
The initiative comes as political activities gradually intensify across Ogun State ahead of the 2027 general elections, with parties and their stakeholders working to consolidate support and expand their grassroots networks.
