Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening public service delivery through continuous investment in the capacity development of government officials.
Sanwo-Olu stated this while interacting with the second cohort of the Lagos State Public Service Accelerator Programme at Lagos House, Marina.
The governor disclosed that the programme had trained 200 middle-level public service officers across two cohorts, equipping them with practical leadership and problem-solving skills to improve governance and service delivery in the state.
According to him, the initiative was established on the recognition that achieving a better Lagos requires deliberate investment in the knowledge, competence and leadership capacity of public servants.
He explained that the programme was designed to empower government officials with the skills and mindset required to address emerging challenges in public administration and respond effectively to the needs of residents.
Sanwo-Olu encouraged participants to embrace continuous learning, remain focused on their responsibilities and prioritise the welfare of the people they serve.
He noted that the quality of leadership developed within the public service would significantly influence the future development of Lagos State.
The governor expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded by the participants, expressing optimism that the knowledge acquired through the programme would translate into measurable improvements in public service delivery across the state.
“I am very proud of the progress these public servants are making and look forward to seeing the practical impact of their work across our state,” he said.
The Lagos State Public Service Accelerator Programme is part of the state government's capacity-building efforts aimed at developing a more effective, innovative and people-oriented public service.
Through the initiative, the government seeks to strengthen leadership capabilities among its workforce and promote practical approaches to problem-solving in the delivery of public services.
