 President Tinubu Congratulates Former First Bank CEO, Dr Adesola Adeduntan on Installation as Balogun of Oyo

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu congratulates Oloye (Dr.) Adesola Kazeem Adeduntan, former Group Chief Executive Officer of First Bank of Nigeria, on his formal installation as the Balogun of Oyo by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, Alaafin of Oyo.

The installation event will take place on Saturday, September 5, 2026.

President Tinubu recalls Dr Adeduntan’s distinguished career in banking and finance, culminating in his stewardship as Group Chief Executive Officer of First Bank, where he led a far-reaching transformation of one of Nigeria’s oldest and most important financial institutions.

The President acknowledges Dr Adeduntan’s continuing contributions to national development through enterprise, education and philanthropy — including his service as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Abiola Ajimobi Technical University.

 

President Tinubu also notes that the title of Balogun is a revered traditional office in Oyo Kingdom, historically reserved for courageous leaders and defenders of the realm. He expresses confidence that Dr Adeduntan will bring the same vision, integrity, and commitment to service that defined his career in the private sector to his new role.

The President commends His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, for the recognition of excellence and service to community, and urges the people of Oyo to support the new Balogun as he works with the palace to promote peace, unity, and development.

President Tinubu wishes Oloye Adeduntan a successful installation ceremony and a reign marked by wisdom, service, and progress for the people of Oyo and Nigeria at large.
