TRACE, FRSC SYNERGIZE ON DATA HARMONIZATION FOR BETTER TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT
The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), has called for stronger collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the area of data harmonization in order to improve better service delivery in the State.
The most Senior Officer, TRACE, Commander Elias Omonayajo, made the call while receiving the new FRSC Sector Commander for Ogun State, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, at the TRACE Headquarters, Ajebo Road, Abeokuta.
Omonayajo, reaffirmed TRACE’s readiness to support the FRSC, especially in road management and safety operations, noting that accurate data collation and harmonisation were critical to effective crash reporting and traffic management.
"Data analysis must be accurate, and we must speak with one voice as traffic managers, our job is to control traffic, save lives and property, reduce road crashes to the barest minimum,” he said.
He assured the FRSC of continued collaboration, stressing that TRACE would work harmoniously with the Corps and other road management agencies as one team.
In his response, Corps Commander Ogunjobi, appreciated TRACE for maintaining a strong relationship with the FRSC, adding that his visit was aimed at further strengthening the synergy between the two agencies.
“As uniformed personnel, we must work together, cooperate and support one another as sister agencies to achieve results,” Ogunjobi said.
He commended TRACE officers for their diligence, neatness and selfless service, pledged to sustain cordial relations. He disclosed that both agencies would soon commence joint task force operations to apprehend traffic offenders, particularly those violating speed limits.
Ogunjobi also expressed readiness to work with TRACE on harmonised data collection, traffic reports and crash statistics.
He paid tribute to past TRACE Commanders/CEOs, describing them as “generals” who were energetic, focus and exemplary in traffic management.
