The NCC delegation, led by senior officials of the Commission, was received by the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, alongside the Deputy Governor, Josephine Piyo, at the Government House.

Speaking during the visit, representatives of the Commission highlighted the importance of strengthened collaboration between federal regulatory agencies and subnational governments in expanding telecommunications infrastructure and improving digital access across the country. They noted that such partnerships are critical to achieving inclusive connectivity, particularly in underserved and rural communities.

The visit also provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss policies and initiatives aimed at enhancing broadband penetration, supporting innovation, and creating an enabling environment for investment in the ICT sector within Plateau State.

Governor Mutfwang commended the NCC for its continued efforts in driving Nigeria’s digital transformation and expressed the state government’s readiness to partner with the Commission to boost connectivity and economic development. He emphasized that improved digital infrastructure would not only enhance governance but also unlock opportunities for businesses, education, and youth empowerment in the state.

Members of the NCC delegation present at the meeting included the Executive Commissioner for Stakeholder Management, Rimini Makama; Director of Digital Economy, Helen Obi; and Deputy Director of Legal and Regulatory Services, Lawrence Abang.

The engagement underscores the NCC’s ongoing nationwide stakeholder outreach as it seeks to accelerate the growth of Nigeria’s digital economy through strategic collaboration and policy alignment.
