ADO-ODO/OTA LG BEGINS PRODUCTION OF DESKS, BENCHES TO BOOST PRIMARY EDUCATION
The Chairman, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Lawal Wasiu, has commenced the production and distribution of 120 desks and benches for primary school pupils, as part of efforts to improve educational infrastructure and learning conditions across schools in the Council area.
Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Lawal Wasiu, said the project was specifically designed for primary schools currently undergoing renovation in Ere and Igbesa wards, with a view to ensuring that pupils return to well-equipped and conducive learning environments after the second term holiday, revealing that the task was handed over to the department of Works and Housing through, the recently revitalised local government workshop.
The Chairman reaffirmed its resolve to continue investing in infrastructure that supports teaching and learning, stressing that improving the quality of education remained a key priority of the current administration, adding that his commitment to strengthen the education sector at the grassroots level brought about the decision to provide critical needs such as classroom furniture, that usually play a vital role in enhancing pupils’ comfort and academic productivity, noting that the ongoing production of desks and benches was part of a broader interventions aimed at delivering tangible dividends of democracy, particularly in the area of basic education.
