The Chairman of the Agriculture Development Corporation (ADC), Hon. Olayiwola Waliu Taiwo, has officially handed over 150 hectares of land to the Agbe for Community Development Association of Ogun State for the development of the Ibara Orile Food Crops/Cashew Project.
The initiative is aimed at boosting agricultural production, empowering local farmers and promoting sustainable community development across Ogun State.
Speaking during the handover, Hon. Taiwo noted that the project forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the agricultural sector while providing opportunities for rural communities to actively participate in food production and agribusiness.
He explained that the project is expected to generate employment opportunities for residents, enhance food security and further strengthen the agricultural value chain within the region.
According to him, the development of the Ibara Orile Food Crops/Cashew Project will also encourage local farmers to expand their production capacity, particularly in the cultivation of food crops and cashew, thereby contributing to the economic growth of the state.
Stakeholders in the agricultural sector have commended the initiative, describing it as a strategic step toward improving agricultural productivity and community empowerment in Ogun State.
The land allocation, observers say, further demonstrates Hon. Taiwo’s commitment to grassroots development, agricultural advancement and the economic prosperity of Ogun State.
The project is expected to commence soon, with members of the association working closely with relevant authorities to ensure its successful implementation.
