A legacy-building initiative in honour of the late Dr. Cairo Ojougboh has drawn commendation from stakeholders, community leaders and beneficiaries, as students expressed renewed determination to pursue academic excellence following an outreach programme organised by the Cairo Ojougboh Foundation.

Representing the Local Government at the event, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior lauded the Ojougboh family for sustaining the initiative, describing it as a meaningful way of preserving and celebrating the enduring legacy of the late statesman and medical professional.

He urged the family and members of the Foundation not to relent in their efforts, noting that the programme has continued to make a significant impact on young people within the community.

“This is a commendable and impactful initiative. Sustaining it will not only keep Dr. Cairo Ojougboh’s memory alive but will also continue to positively shape the lives of many students,” Ehiwarior said.

Beneficiaries of the programme also expressed gratitude to the Foundation for the generous support extended to them. According to the students, the gesture had inspired and motivated them to work harder toward achieving their educational and career aspirations.

They noted that beyond material assistance, the event provided mentorship and encouragement that would help guide their decisions and personal development.

The programme concluded on a hopeful note, with students leaving the venue encouraged and determined to make better choices about their future, while organisers reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining the initiative in honour of Dr. Ojougboh’s legacy.
