LG BOSS CALLS FOR DEVELOPMENTAL SYNERGY IN ADO-ODO/OTA
The Executive Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Adewale Wasiu, has called on residents of the Council area to sustain their unwavering support and cooperation as his administration charts a development-focused direction for 2026.
The call was made during his New Year message to the people, at the Local Government Secretariat in Ota, saying transition into 2026 has provided an opportunity to reflect on the gains of the outgone year, just as he promised to renew his commitment to a responsive and people-centered governance.
“As we bid farewell to a productive year and welcome the new year with hope and optimism, we reflect on our achievements and reaffirm our commitment to enhanced governance,’’ he said.
He said further that the intention of his administration in the new year was to deliver tangible benefits through strategic initiatives across key sectors that included, education and agriculture in which plans were on ground to boost local food production through farmer-support programmes via, the adoption of modern farming techniques, agribusiness development and increased youth participation to foster economic growth.
Hon. Wasiu noted that the education sector would receive a renewed attention through the upgrade of school infrastructure, continuous training for teachers and expanded access to scholarships and learning resources to improve educational outcomes across the local government, while the health sector would be strengthened with modern healthcare facilities with emphasis on improved maternal and child care, disease prevention and overall community wellbeing.
He outlined programmes targeted at youth and sports development, aimed at empowering young people through skills acquisition, entrepreneurship support and sports initiatives that would provide platforms for talent discovery and community engagement, while environmental sanitation would be enhanced through regular clean-up exercises, improved waste management systems and the development of green spaces, just as residents would be encouraged to adopt eco-friendly practices for a healthier environment.
On infrastructure, the Chairman highlighted plans to upgrade roads, improve water supply, enhance connectivity and market infrastructure to support trade and commerce, all with the aim to improve livelihood.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the dividends of democracy, assuring residents of transparency, accountability and inclusive citizen participation in governance, while he noted that impactful projects and services would continue to be delivered to improve lives.
