Be Committed to Community Service — Abolurin
Members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Ogun State Metro Command, have been charged to show greater dedication to community service across the state.
The retired Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Adewale John Abolurin, gave the charge during a visit by executive members of the State Metro PCRC to the Ibara Government Reserved Area (GRA) Police Post remodelling site in Abeokuta.
He said the remodelling of the police post into a state-of-the-art facility and a divisional command, which will also accommodate NSCDC commands, would further enhance security in the GRA under the urban regeneration project being executed under the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Abolurin charged PCRC executives and members of the public to remain committed to their communities, particularly in the areas of development and security, in order to sustain peace in the state. He stressed that residents should be security-conscious and view security as everyone’s responsibility.
In his remarks, the State Metro Command PCRC Chairman, Hon. Yomi White, commended the former Commandant-General for making time to supervise the project and for mobilising support towards the remodelling and establishment of a robust security architecture within residential areas.
Similarly, the Ibara GRA PCRC Coordinator, Rev. Timothy Balogun, praised Abolurin’s ingenuity and unwavering commitment to supervising the construction work.
He assured that members of the PCRC unit would remain committed to the safety of the area and the welfare of both residents and security personnel.
