Two Years On, Queens Palm Support Initiative Expands Impact with Leadership Workshop
The Queens Palm Support Initiative has marked its second anniversary with a transformative leadership and communication workshop designed to equip young people between the ages of 15 and 35 with essential power skills for personal, academic, and professional advancement. The event, held in Lagos, featured intensive sessions on Leadership Skills, Communication and Personal Branding, Emotional Intelligence, and Counselling, attracting participants from schools across the state, including Laureates College, Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls, Lagos Anglican Grammar School, Topgrade Schools, and International School Lagos (ISL).
Founder of the Initiative, Sabrina Ozma, explained that the initiative evolved from insights she gained through her work as a communications specialist and a divine instruction to create an empowering platform for young people. She noted that the initiative, which began in Abuja in 2023, has experienced remarkable growth over the past two years, driven by the desire to help young individuals acquire soft skills that foster excellence and strong character.
Ozma acknowledged that the journey came with challenges, including misunderstandings from some schools and limited funding. However, she expressed gratitude for the consistent support from family and friends, which helped keep the vision alive. She emphasized that the goal of the Initiative is to see young people thrive, develop leadership capacity, communicate effectively, and build the mindset required for future influence. She added that this year’s workshop equipped attendees with valuable insights into emotional intelligence, personal branding, leadership, and mental resilience.
Joshua Ajayi, Founder and Publisher of Brand Communicator, described the workshop as deeply impactful. He noted that he stayed beyond his session to learn from other facilitators and encouraged participants to be intentional about building their personal brands and living in ways that leave a meaningful impression even in their absence.
Founder of the Refined Female Movement, Bodam Taiwo, shared that her strongest motivation is vision and the lives connected to her purpose. Speaking on leadership and personal discipline, she encouraged young people, especially those interested in fields like engineering, to strengthen their minds, embrace discipline, delay gratification, and remain focused on greatness.
Personal Development Coach, Temitayo Olawale-Olatujoye, expressed joy at seeing young participants receive insights she did not have access to at their age. She highlighted emotional intelligence as a tool everyone must cultivate intentionally and urged the attendees to approach life with purpose and deliberate choices.
Relationship Coach, Dr. Funmilayo Ajetunmobi, described her participation as an honour, noting that shaping young minds is one of the most rewarding investments anyone can make. She emphasised that emotional intelligence remains a foundation for sustaining relationships and unlocking opportunities, adding that talent alone is not enough without the ability to manage one’s emotions and relate well with others.
Participants also reflected on their learning experiences. Yomisun Amira of International School UNILAG noted that the workshop helped her become more expressive and self-aware. Anjola Oluwamushin of Laureates Colle
