Eid-ul-Mawlid: FG Declares September 5 Public Holiday
The Federal Government has declared Friday, September 5, 2025, a public holiday to mark Eid-ul-Mawlid, the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
In a statement by the Ministry of Interior, Muslims in Nigeria and beyond were urged to reflect on the Prophet’s virtues of peace, love, humility, tolerance, and compassion.
The FG also called on Nigerians of all faiths to pray for peace, security, and national development, while wishing Muslims a joyous and peaceful celebration.
