PPP DEVELOPMENT IN OGUN; A GAME CHANGER-DG
In its efforts to continue to drive Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) in Ogun State and ensure development across various sectors of the State’s economy, the Director General, (PPP) Barr. Dapo Oduwole, has said that the present administration will continue to explore collaborations with the private sector in order to deliver and infrastructure project and divers government services.
Oduwole, who made this known while speaking with Journalists in Abeokuta on the ‘PPP Success story in Ogun State’ described (PPPs) as a collaborative arrangement between government entities and private sector organisations with the sole aim to jointly delivering infrastructure projects which facilitates public service to the State’s residents.
The DG further noted that the Prince Dapo Abiodun led adminstration had created an enabling ambience that would allow Public-Private relationships to thrive, noting that the last 6 years of growth was a result of deliberate involvement with PPP.
He added that the proximity of the state with Lagos with the shared boundaries is a unique advantage which presented Ogun as an investment destination of choice for infrastructural development and other socio-economic benefits.
According to him, "Ogun is naturally well-positioned for PPP projects and initiatives due to its strategic location, enabling commercial and business environment as well as enviable relationships with the organised private sector. The State exhibits success in implementing infrastructure project across the spectrum including Agriculture and Agro processing, roads and transportation, healthcare, housing and tourism
Barr. Oduwole added that the government was an adherent to the rule of law, hence, enacted the PPP enabling legislation with attendant of fiscal policies that support investments in the State, applauding potential investors for their interest in the State, saying the present administration's establishment of the Gateway International Airport, which now has approval for cargo and commercial flight operations strategically put the state on the global map.

He revealed that the Airport is in a Free Trade Zone which include; a Special Agro Processing Zone (SAPZ), a Garments and textile hub, an Aerotropolis comprising mixed use real estate, logistics and industrial zones as well as hospitality services.
