NCC Presents Outcome of Regulatory Impact Assessment on Subsidiary Legislation 2024

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has presented the outcome of its Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) on Subsidiary Legislation 2024. This milestone marks a significant step in the Commission's efforts to ensure effective, relevant, and forward-looking regulatory frameworks.

The RIA, a first-of-its-kind initiative, assessed the efficiency and impact of key subsidiary legislations governing the Nigerian Communications Sector. The assessment focused on critical areas such as:

1. Licensing

2. SIM registration

3. Subscriber management

4. Spectrum trading

5. Enforcement procedures

6. Infrastructure sharing

Through this review, the NCC identified opportunities to streamline processes, clarify obligations, and remove outdated provisions that may hinder innovation or investment.
