High Chief Olarewaju Bashorun Declares Interest in 2027 House of Representatives Seat
High Chief Olarewaju Bashorun, popularly known as Larry Bash, has thrown his hat into the ring, declaring his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat to represent Ado Odo/Ota Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
During a courtesy visit from members of the NUJ Independent Online Chapel, Ota, Bashorun outlined his reasons for contesting, citing his grassroots background, humanitarian work, and experience as a security expert, businessman, and philanthropist.
The seasoned politician highlighted his various interventions in the local government, including paying monthly salaries to elderly citizens, offering scholarships, and covering hospital bills for the indigent. He emphasized his familiarity with the needs of his people, having worked closely with them.
Bashorun's credentials, including being the Seriki of Ota, Secretary to Olota in Council, and Chief of Staff to Olota of Ota, Aworiland, lend credence to his grassroots acumen.
He expressed confidence in his ability to deliver, citing his experience in resolving political issues and organizing an industrial summit to foster relationships between industries and the local community.
According to him "If elected, Bashorun promised to focus on attracting development to the constituency, including modern markets, parks, road reconstruction, sporting facilities, and other amenities".
He assured constituents that his experience and social connections would enable him to provide effective representation in the House of Representative.
