LG RECEIVES ₦1 BILLION BOOST FOR INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
Member representing Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Tunji Akinosi, has said the zonal intervention fund for Ado-Odo/Ota has been increased to ₦1 billion to boost infrastructural development.
Hon. Akinosi made this disclosure during a familiarization tour by journalists to his office in Ota, saying that, the increase in intervention was as a result of the efforts to prioritise key sectors such as education, safety and food security within the available resources.
He disclosed that ₦700 million was for the rehabilitation and upgrade of public schools, while ₦200 million was for solar-powered street lighting and ₦100 million to support agriculture and boost local food production.
The Federal Lawmaker, assured constituents that advocacy efforts for the full rehabilitation of major federal roads were ongoing with positive responses received from relevant Ministries and Agencies.
"We're pushing hard for more interventions, with sustained efforts, the roads will eventually receive more attention they deserve from both the Federal and State Governments," Hon. Akinosi said.
Akinosi noted that, with the development, Ado-Odo/Ota was set to experience significant improvements in infrastructure, which would have positive impact on the lives of residents.
He urged journalists to uphold truth and professionalism in their reportage, emphasising the need for balance, accuracy and ethical standards in an era where social media misinformation is on the rise.
