 COUNCILORS' FORUM HARPS ON COLLABORATION AT LG LEVEL

In a bid to ensure a good working relationship that would strengthen democratic ties, the Ogun State Councilors' Forum has called for collaboration between the Executives of 20 Local Governments in the State, towards promoting unity of purpose and rancorous free administration for the well-being of the people at the grassroots.

         



 The Chairman, Ogun State Councilors' Forum, Hon. Faseyi Akindele, disclosed this during the delegate's visit to Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Secretariat in Ota, saying that cooperation between lawmakers and the Executive would go-along way in advancing LG administration.

Akindele stressed that the Executive Arm at the Local Government level should prioritise the welfare and needs of councilors, saying such gesture would further entrench cordial relationships and promote administration convenience in the Council area.

The Forum Chairman promised that, lawmakers were ready to promote a culture of teamwork and cooperation that would lead to a robust working relationship where several developmental projects would be assented to with ease.

The Vice President of the National Forum for Councilors, Hon. Abiola Muheeb, commended Akindele's commitment to good leadership, stating that the visit marks the beginning of a new era of collaboration and cooperation between Lawmakers and the Executive body in Ogun State.

In response, the Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota LG, Alhaji Lawal Wasiu, represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, Mr. Agabi Mohammed, appreciated the Forum for their visit.

He promised that the Executive Arm would collaborate to establish a good working relationship with the lawmakers, emphasising the importance of creating an enabling environment and prioritising the interest of the Local Government, stating, the grassroots was the foundation of development.

"This visit is expected to pave the way for a new era of cooperation and collaboration between Lawmakers and the Executive body in Ogun State, ultimately driving rapid development across the 20 Local Government Areas of the State, " he said.
