OJU- ITA OBA FESTIVAL, A SYMBOL OF UNITY- OLOTA
Olota of Ota, Prof. Abdukabir Obalanlege has said Oju Ita Oba festival serves as a symbol of unity, tourism and a rallying point to all the Ota sons, daughters and residents to celebrate Ileya festival together aswell the life and times of our tradition and culture.
Olota stated this on Monday, at the 2024 Ojude Ita Oba Festival held at Okede, Ota adding that the annual event has become a catalyst for development in Ota and means of showcasing our cultures and gathering of our people to wine and dine which has overtime fostered unity,love to promote socio- culturay in diversity in the area.
Prof. Abdukabir said standing for unity through the festival has been the yardstick to elevate our community and to build unity and harmony calling on residents to contribute their best towards the socio-economic growth and development of the town.
He added that Ota and its environ have been relatively peaceful in this recent time saying the residents are conscious of the benefits in the peaceful co-existence which is the hallmark of socio- economic boost.
Prof. Abdul kabir charged members of traditional council in Ota axis not to relent in their cooperatinn and adequate support which they have been giving to him which according to him would fast tract infrastructural and socio-economic development of the town and his environs.
Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Chairman, Engr. Sheriff Musa ably represented by his deputy Mrs Anifowose said the Local Government would not relent in its efforts in providing infrastructural development to boost economy activities in the area.
He enjoins the residents to be law abiding and always protect government property in the various domain as not to allow the unscrupulous elements in the society tamper with them saying development of any community could not be left in the hands of government alone.
