RAINSTORM: AOOLG CHAIRMAN ASSURES RESIDENTS OF PROMT ACTION TO RESTORE DAMAGED ELECTRICITY POLES
Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Chairman, Engr. Sheriff Musa has assured residents of the area of timely restoration of electricity poles damaged by rainstorm recently.
Engr. Musa made gave the assurance during a visit to the affected communities such as Iyesi, Osuke Town, Egan Road, lyana Ilogbo, Ijaba, Ijagba, Itele, Lafenwa, Singer, Joju, Alishiba, Oju Ore, among others, saying authority of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company had been contacted to fix the ooles.
The Chairman stated that arrangement had been made to secure the damaged poles and cables in the affected forty communities to prevent hoodlums from tampering with them, urging the people exercise patience and stay away from the areas to forestall any eventuality.
Olota of Ota, Oba Abdukabir Obalanlege in a separate visit thanked God for sparing lives as no life was lost in the incident .
He assured the residents that he would liase with the authority concerned as to do the needful in ensuring quick restoration of electricity saying all hands must be on deck.
Mr Kolawole Odunoye, a trader at Ketere market, said the rainstorm was a natural disaster sending signal to both the government and the residents to get prepared for this year rainy season and eschew dumping of refuse into the drainages.
