STANBIC IBTC: " TOGETHER 4ALIMB INITIATIVE" ADMITS 45 NEW BENEFICIARIES TO THE EXISTING 55
LAGOS:The Stanbic IBTC holdings "Together 4Alimb initiative" has since its establishment in 2015, this year round it up to 100 beneficiaries with replacement of protheses limbs for children from age 3 to 18 and N1.5million for educational support for actualization of their future ambition regardless of disability.
The Chief Executive Officer, Stanbic IBTC, Dr. Demola Sogunle made this known in his opening speech at the 9th Edition theme " Together 4Alimb Walk Initiative", at the STANBIC IBTC Head Office, Water Carrington, Victoria Island Lagos.
He said that the walk symbolises unity and compassion addinng that the limbs are replaced until age 18 with addition of 45 beneficiaries to the existing 55 since inception to make 100 beneficairies so far.
"The impact of Stanbic IBTC's" Together 4Alimb Walk Initiative" has since inception gone beyond physical assitance to include educational and emotional support that help them thrive in their future ambition; Education Trust of 1.5million per child is included", Dr. Demola explained.
The Head Of Marketing, IBTC, Mrs Bridget Oyefeso emphasised that walk of emotion is to inspire, despite the adversity the children exhibit an unwavering determination to succeed having IBTC as their trusted patner adding that through this initiative, a lot of families, communities and Society at large have been positively affected.
Representing, Director Of Special Project, Dr. Viola Vanlook said the initiative helps to develop the support and well-being of the children adding that 100 children have so far benefitted since the inception in 2015.
The Managing Director, IfeanHealth Nig. Ltd, Ejike Anih said the process of the project has been so tremendous occassioning 16 aircraft coming into the country for the purpose of the programme invariably culminating into a huge success.
Speaking, the First Lady in Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu ably represented by Dr. Oyindamola Ogunsola said she was pleased with the initiative to better the lives of children without limbs saying that physical disabilities has physical abilities.
She added that loosing a limb is a complex experience that extends beyond physical loss for children facing such challenges, access to healthcare, rehabilitation services and social inclusion are vital for their physical emotional and social well-being saying the gifts of protheses limbs, these children receive a second chance, they can run, walk and play again, embracing the joy of childhood.
Dr. Ibijoke said the Governor Of Lagos State Government, His Excellency, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has donated block of classrooms to community school in Ajah commending the Chief Executive Officer, IBTC, Dr. Demola Sogunle and the entire team of the initiative for their concerned efforts.
She admonished the prominent figures in the society to support the initiative so as to increase the numbers of the beneficiaries annually.
