 OGUN COMMISSIONER EXPRESSES SATISFACTION WITH COMMENCEMENT OF FIRST TERM EXAMINATION

 In a bid to ensure compliance with the instituted policy on examination guidelines in line with the provided mechanisms in Ogun State, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the commencement of the 2023/2024 Academic session First Term examination in all Public Secondary and Primary Schools, across the 20 Local Government Areas of the State.


The Commissioner who stated this while monitoring and accessing the conduct of the exam in Ijebu-Ode axis of the State, said the examination started on a very good note, as students were well arranged in serene and conducive environments, while proper coordination was ensured by the principals.

Prof. Arigbabu noted that the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye was also on monitoring tour to Abeokuta axis, while other Senior Education Officers and Zonal Education Officers were delegated to carry out the monitoring exercise in the other regions of the State.

He said there was an adequate and timely supply of materials to ensure successful exercise free from malpractices, attributing the improvement in the educational sector to Governor Dapo Abiodun's commitment to providing a qualitative and accessible education to the citizenry, as well as creating an enabling atmosphere for teaching and learning, expressing his satisfaction over learners’ conducts.

The Commissioner noted, "If you get to any school in Ogun State right now, they are writing the same examination which is Mathematics at the same time. So we want that kind of uniformity and kudos to the school heads for complying and conforming to the directives given’’.

Speaking, Principals of some of the schools visited which include  Ijebu-Ode Grammar School (Senior), Mr.Joseph Odufuwa, Adeola Odutola College (Senior), Mr. Adeyinka Adekoya, Ijebu Muslim College (Junior) and (Senior), Mrs. Taibat Jimoh and Alhaja Idowu Adeniran-Idris respectively, appreciated the Ministry for the adequate supply of examination materials, increment of examination logistics and prompt payment of running cost, saying it had helped a lot in the preparation for the examination and putting things in right shape.
