OLOTA WARNS PERPETRATORS OF LAND GRABBING, HARPS ON PEACEFUL CO-EXISTENCE
The Olota of Ota, in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba Prof. Abdulkabir Obalanlege has warned those who parade themselves as land grabbers to desist from the illegal act, saying this and other unscrupulous activities that could distort peaceful co-existence of the people across Ota and its environs would no longer be condoned in the area.
Obalanlege made this known during a tour of Ajibode, Konifewo, Akindele Okitikan, Ewu Igbogbo Alayo communities, to address the issues of land grabbing activities, which he said had become unbearable, noting that affected communities had been witnessing serious crisis.
The Monarch assured the people of the area of his prompt response on issues that would further bring growth and development, as well as prevent communal clashes and maintain peaceful co-existence among the affected families and buyers.
The Olota said he would liaise with the relevant stakeholders in government to end land grabbing, promising to use his influence to attract the provision of needed social amenities in promoting the well-being of the people in the area.
Responding, the Baale of Ajibode-Ota, Chief Adesina Isadare, commended the Olota for visiting the area to assess the high level of land-grabbing activities they were subjected to, adding that they would continue to support government’s agenda and policies, pleading with the government to take necessary action to curb the increasing activities towards ensuring peace and security in the land.
