WE’LL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT TRAINING FOR STANDARD PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE- OGUN HoS
The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun, has said the State Civil Service would continue to support capacity building that would engender professional and personal growth of the workforce, towards acquiring new knowledge and insights on career trends while equally enhancing workers' skills.
Mr. Fagbohun made this known at the Obas' Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, while delivering a keynote address at the 2023 Professional Development Seminar for Administrative Officers in the State Public Service with the theme: "Empowering Excellence in Administration and Human Resource Management", organised by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, Ogun State branch.
The Head of Service noted that Administrative Officers serve as Human Resource Managers in an establishment to perform managerial functions of planning, organising, staffing, directing, coordinating, reporting and budgeting, adding that training plays a major role in achieving organisational objectives for enhanced performance while also expanding their frontiers of excellence.
According to him,’’ this 2023 Professional Development Seminar for Administrative Officers in the Ogun State Public Service will consolidate all efforts of the government to expose Administrative Officers to standard professional practice’’.
He said the present administration was committed to various initiatives in a bid to entrench excellence in the Public Service of the State, including capacity building of the workforce which was an integral factor for excellence, enjoined the participants to ensure effective discharge of their duties.
Earlier in his address, the State Branch Chairman of the Institute, Engr. Olabode Badiru said knowledge gained is powerful when transformed into actionable steps, urging participants to translate what they have learned into tangible actions and integrate the newfound insights into their daily practices.
Engr. Badiru appreciated the State government and the Head of Service for creating an enabling environment for the Administrative Officers in the Public Service to showcase their skills in personnel management.
Responding on behalf of other participants, Mrs. Ojumoola Onawoga and Mr. Akinlabi Majekodunmi, lauded the efforts of the organisers and promised to prioritise the gains of the seminar, to enhance their performances as Administrative Officers in the Service of the State.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of Awards of Excellence to the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi and the Head of Service, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun.
