OGUN HEALTH INSURANCE: HMB ENROLS STAFFERS

Members of staff of the Hospitals Management Board have been enrolled in the Ogun State Health Insurance Scheme (OGSHIA), to enjoy the benefits that come with it.

Speaking at the enrolment programme in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the Permanent Secretary of, the Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Olayinka Elemide disclosed that the step was a part of the health care package of the present government for the people of the State, as a way of ensuring adequate preparation for medical emergencies.

Dr. Elemide, while advising members of staff to take their health seriously, noted that the high cost of medical treatment was one of the major causes of avoidable deaths, adding that subscribing to the Scheme would help citizens to access health care services that their financial capability might not be able to cover.

Contributing, the Director of Administration and Supplies in the Board, Mr. Muyiwa Ojo admonished them to be ambassadors of the Scheme by encouraging other co-workers, family members and associates to key into it.

In their separate remarks, two of the enrolled staff, Mrs. Titilayo Taiwo and Mr. Sanusi Sulaimon expressed gratitude to the State government for the initiative, saying it would reduce out-of-pocket spending in accessing healthcare.
