 MINISTRY INSTALLS SOLAR POWER IN PHCs, RURAL COMMUNITY

          Towards ensuring effective and quality service delivery in the health sector of Ogun State, the State Government through the Ministry of Rural Development has installed modern solar power at Iperu and Obada station Healthcare Centres,

          While solar street lights were installed at Gbadamosi Alubankudi community in Ikenne, Ijebu-Igbo and Ijebu North Local Government Areas respectively.

       


   It would be recalled that over 12 PHCs, cutting across all the Senatorial Districts of the State have so far benefitted from the provision of Solar power kits, while over 19 rural communities are enjoying street lights provided by the Ministry.

          Speaking during the installation, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Adetayo Adewale, represented by the Director of Rural Electrification, Engr. Ismail Balogun, said the effort was geared towards ensuring effective and quality service delivery in the health sector of the State.

          The Permanent Secretary stated that the provision of street lights would also boost economic activities among the rural dwellers and guide against security threat in communities, adding that it will further reduce the consumption of petroleum, and carbon monoxide being released into the air through the use of generating sets.

          Mr. Adewale noted that the solar installation was part of the present administration’s strides to deliver the dividends of democracy, towards ameliorating the sufferings of the people at the grassroots and improving their standard of living.

          He advised the benefitted PHCs and the community to make judicious use of the solar power panel, assuring them that more of such developmental projects from the Ministry are still in the offing.

          In her remark, the Matron of the Iperu Healthcare Centre, Mrs. Tolulope Adesanya, appreciated the State government for the gesture, saying constant power supply would aid their operations and reduce the stress of epileptic power supply being experienced.

          Also speaking, a resident of Gbadamosi Alubankudi, Mr. Kasali Olatunde said the street lights would enhance the security system of the community against external invaders.
