 OGSG AFFIRMS TO UPLIFT SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS OF GRASSROOTS PEOPLE

 



The Ogun State Government has affirmed that it would continue to make concerted efforts in uplifting the socio-economic status of people at the grassroots by providing direct impact projects.


Governor Dapo Abiodun affirmed this while commissioning the newly constructed 20 lock-up shops at Kila Market in the Odeda Local Government Area of the State. 




Prince Abiodun who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi said governance was all about the transformation of the governed lives, adding, that its Administration has since inception involved in transformative projects, especially at the grassroots. 


The Governor, said the Lock-up shops are one of the many executed projects under the current Executive Chairman of the council, aimed at improving the socio-economic status of the people of the Kila community, and in general, Odeda, noted, these are pointers that the second term would be more rewarding. 


He said "These shops are for you, they are part of your dividends of democracy. I want you to guard it jealously, so you can enjoy it for a long period. Our Administration will not relent in giving our best in the interest of our people".


Earlier in her welcome address, the Chairman of the council, Hon. Folasade Adeyemo, said the Lock-up shops are part of the delivery of the electioneering campaign promises to the people.


Adeyemo noted that her Administration has embarked on people-oriented projects for the betterment of their lives in all facets, adding that the projects have cut across all the 10 wards in the Local Government.


Appreciating the government, a farmer in the community, Alhaji Lamidi Tajudeen assured that the shops would be put to good use for the benefit of the people.
