 HAMZAT ASSURES NEWLY POSTED PERMANENT SECRETARY A CORDIAL WORKING RELATIONSHIP



Ogun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat has assured the newly posted Permanent Secretary to the Ministry, of a cordial working relationship as enjoyed by his predecessor, the current, Head of Service in the State.




The Commissioner, who said this while receiving the new Permanent Secretary, Dr. Akinlesi Rotimiolu Ayodeji into his office, Oba’s Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta said, working in the Ministry has been worthwhile, peaceful, and lively, adding, he was sure that the Permanent Secretary would not regret his new posting.

Hamzat charged the management and staffers to work harmoniously with Dr. Akinlesi so that the progress the agency has been making would be sustained, then the ministry and the State would continue to experience unending progress in the traditional institutions and across all the Local Government Areas.

Earlier, the Head of Service, Kolawole Fagbohun, who introduced the new Permanent Secretary as a humble, cerebral, and thoroughbred civil servant, charged the management and staffers of the Ministry to extend the same hand of fellowship that was extended to him for a successful period in his new office.

Responding, Dr. Akinlesi appreciated the Commissioner, Head of Service, and the entire management team for the warm welcome given him, with a promise to work diligently with everyone at all times.

He said, “All I am asking for is your support and cooperation for the betterment of the Ministry and the State at large”.

Accordingly, Dr. Akinlesi joined the Ogun State Civil Service in 1993 and has worked in various capacities including Subject Matter Specialist (Crop Protection) and Crop Specialist (FADAMA 3 Additional Funding Project).  Before he was appointed a Permanent Secretary, he was a Deputy Director and Zonal Manager of the Ogun State Agricultural Development Programme (OGADEP), Ijebu-Ode Zone.

He holds a Ph.D. degree in Agriculture from the University of Ibadan after his first and second degrees from the University of Ilorin.  He is a member of the Nigeria Society of Plant Protection (NSPP) and Nigeria Society of Nematologists (NISON) apart from other Agricultural Associations. 

Dr. Akinlesi was appointed as a Permanent Secretary in the Ogun State Civil Service on September 17, 2021, by the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun (MFR).  He was first posted to the Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs and after one year of meritorious service in the ministry, he was posted to the Ministry of Forestry and now to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
