COMMISSIONER CALLS FOR STAFFERS SUPPORT IN NEW YEAR

Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat has called for more supports from the management and staffers of the Ministry in order to further enhance the productivity of the Ministry and meet the expectations of critical stakeholders in the new year.

Hamzat, who said this at the prayer service held to usher in the new year at the Oba’s Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, noted that the support he had enjoyed in the few months he joined the Ministry has really drove the Ministry on higher pedestal.

He enjoined staffers to focus on positive things that would transform the Ministry and their live for better in the year, adding, whatever they focus on either good or bad, would be magnified and thereby come to reality in their respective lives.

In his remarks, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Kolawole Fagbohun said, the staffer of the Ministry should render a selfless and timeless services at all times, knowing that services rendered were not useless, but rather for themselves, noting, it was wrong of anyone to mismanage fellow human being, whom he described as God’s image.

He said, “everyone should be conscious of the fact that they are spending their lives each passing day, and they must work on things, which they will be remembered for, after their years in service”.

He urged them to develop themselves as no one, was too old to learn, considering the availability of internet facilities at their tips, which he noted has made learning easy in the present day.

In her short sermon, a member of staff, Mrs. Oluwaseun Elusakin, admonished everyone to put God first, in all their endeavor in the new year and be contented with whatever God has provided for them and should never over reach themselves, which may hinder their performance in their various offices.

Prayers were also said in both Muslim and Christian ways for individuals, the Ministry, the State and Nigeria as a whole.
