 IJEBU-IRETE AACDC EMPOWERS INDIGENES WITH #.920m

Towards human development and capacity building, the Anowoneyo Area Community Development Committee (AACDC) in Ijebu-Irete has empowered indigenes of the town with over nine hundred thousand naira.





The empowerment program which include seminar on formation and operations of cooperative society according to AACDC Chairman, Otunba Saheed Dosumu was in line with the vision and agenda of the traditional ruler of the town, Oba Dr. Abdulganiyu Olusegun Awokoya-Yesufu to improve both the infrastructural and human capital development. 


The AACDC Chairman said that, the seminar was organized to prepare  beneficiaries of the empowerment program and executive members of the established cooperative society for smooth and effective take off.


He added that the seminar would also aid effective and efficient administration of the township market that is currently under construction in the town.





The seminar which was supported by the State Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives saw the beneficiaries going through training on 

entrepreneur's self-assessment and Evaluation; registration process of cooperative society in the State and It's benefits to members; how to be a successful entrepreneur and benefits of loan repayments among others.


A resource person from the Department of Business Administration, Lagos State University, Dr Salau Adeyemi while delivering lecture at the event, emphasized on importance of successful entrepreneur and benefits of loan repayment, pointing out that the bedrock of any successful entrepreneur lies in being truthful always, adding that prompt and timely repayment of loans improves and instills growth in the community.


Meanwhile, election was conducted with the State bylaw establishing cooperative societies to kick start the operations of the town's own established cooperative society.


Chief Idris Olatunji emerged the President; Mr Aminu Lateef, Secretary; while Mrs Adebowale Adeniji emerged treasurer of the society after the election.


The elected President, Chief Idris Olatunji and his members, in their acceptance speech, promised to work hard and put in their best for the growth  and development of the just established cooperative society with a call for maximum support and cooperation from members.


Giving vote of thanks at end of the event, the AACDC General Secretary, Missionary Jubreel Noorddeen appreciated the State government and management of the State Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives for their support, stating that Ijebu-Irete AACDC would not relent at ensuring socio-economic growth and development of the town.
