Annual Iganmode day festival is to Improve Quality of life- Olota
Olota of Otta, Oba (Prof.) Adeyemi Obalanlege, Lanlege Ekun II, has described the annual Iganmode day as community development festival to engender and improve quality of lives, socio-economic, political, infrastructures and financial activities of the residents.
Olota, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege made this statement while presenting his speech at Ansar- Ur-Deen, Grammar School, Ota.
Olota added that Awori land is so accommodating of any tribe which has contributed immensely to the development of the region adding that Iganmode day is to boost the values of culture and tourism in Otta and across the entire State.
He expressed deep appreciation for the governor’s show of commitment and support for the development of tourism in the state.
The Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun in his speech emphasised that Iganmode day festival is well reckoned with in Ogun State adding that it is about Promotion of our culture which reminds us of where we came from, where we are going and how far we have gone.
Governor promised not to relent in his efforts to make Awori kingdom an enviable one and to be reckoned with in the provision of basic infrastructures to better the lives of the people.
The Chairman, Senate Commeetee On Finance, Senator, Solomon Adeola fondly called 'Yayi' said culture is the way of life which no one can be separated saying this is the motive of nursing the ambition to become a senator representing Ogun West in gubernatorial election, 2023.
He promised that if he eventually becomes the Ogun West Senator which was immediately corrected by Prince Dapo Abiodun that not if but 'when' he becomes the Ogun West Senator claiming that his landmark in the political structure in Ogun State in particular and Nigeria in general cannot be underestimated.
Senator Adeola added that he will ensure rapid infrastructural development in Ogun West and utilise everything at his disposal to develop every aspect of Ogun West.
The Chief host, Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele , while thanking the dignitaries added that “Odun Omo Iganmode Afeleja” is the biggest annual cultural festival in Aworiland.
She thanked the Awori monarch and the entire people of the kingdom for the special award given to the well deserved distinguished fellow in the society.
