 'We" ll Continue To Discharge Our  Statutory Obligation Till Our Demand Is Met' -LIRS STAFF

The attention of the Governor, Lagos State Government, His Excellency Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the entire leaders of the ruling Party in Lagos,All Progressive Council (APC), have been drawn to the on-going draconian decision by the  management of Lagos Internal Revenue Service(LIRS) in making only pass in Computer Based Exam (CBT) a yardstick for promotion.

In a vox- pop with many of the staff members in Lagos, we were briefed that before now, aggregate was the bane for promotion while reverse is the case  in the on-going promotion exercise at the Lagos Internal Revenue Service(LIRS) adding that only those with required scores in CBT are considered not minding those whose their aggregate are more .

"We all support the management decision to make use of Computer - aid Service a priority, which can be achieved by organising more training and not through nepotism,

"The main mandate of the LIRS is to generate revenue internally for the Lagos State Government, this  mandate has been well accomplished through the doggedness of the staff members in the Agency. LIRS staff need more training and programm to enhance more productivity and not demoralising- oriented - syndrome enacted by the new management as this is the pot of Lagos State , we can't afford it's brokingness", they clamored.

"Let me explain, a certain cadre requires 55% overall aggregate for promotion an officer got 65% overall aggregate, not promoted because of the deficiency in 'CBT', while some with lesser aggregate with a required percentage score in 'CBT' got promotion .  We strongly believe that any decision should be to the interest of the overall members to achieve the best for our dear state", they explained.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu should be reminded of all inclusive syndrome at ensuring his  re-election campaign promises a success and not allowing infringement of pains on any part under his tutelage.

The staff and well wishers in one voice making a clarion call to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Mr Governor, Mr Deputy Governor, the Speaker and other stakeholders and well meaning Lagosians and Nigerians both at home and  diaspora  to prevail on the antagonistic staff - newly introduced decision by LIRS management and make the promotion, a reality.
