Ogun Commissioner for Health clears bill for cesarean patient
The Hon. Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker joined the family of Mr. Yemi and Kafayat Sorunke to celebrate the arrival of a set of twins who were born through cesarean session at the State Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta on Wednesday, without paying a dime, given the earlier registration of Mrs. Sorunke on the health insurance scheme.
Earlier in February, the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun launched health insurance scheme for informal sector as one of the steps towards achieving universal health coverage in the State.
The scheme which enables residents to access free healthcare across board with the payment of N1,000 on a monthly basis, includes antenatal and post-natal care for the mother of the new bundle of joy and her babies.
