WE'LL GO TOUGH AGAINST RITUAL KILLERS, KIDNAPPERS, OTHERS -ABIODUN
Ogun State Government says it will take stringent measures against those engaging in kidnapping, ritual killings, cybercrimes, and other heinous crimes in the State.
The State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun who gave the warning at the coronation and presentation of Staff of Office to the new Orimolusi of Ijebu-Igbo, Oba Lawrence Adebajo at Abusi Edumare College Ground, Ijebu-Igbo in Ijebu-North Local Government Area, expressed dismay over the current high rate of ritual killings and cybercrimes in the society.
Governor Abiodun said his administration had put in place structures that would engage youths in legal ventures rather than involved in cybercrimes and other nefarious activities, calling on parents and guardians to inculcate right values in their children and wards, as well as serve as good role models.
Abiodun while soliciting the cooperation of traditional rulers in addressing the recent spike of insecurity, added that he and his Oyo State counterpart had collaborated in setting up a joint security task force, especially at border areas of both States.
Governor Abiodun who traced the throne of the ancient town to the 14th century said the journey of installing the Monarch started last month, expressing hope that with the ascension of the throne by Oba Adebajo, Ijebu-Igbo and its environs would witness an upward swing in terms of development.
He enjoined the Orimolusi to be guided by the legacy of honour, be receptive and open to all as his appointment was a call to higher responsibility, calling on sons and daughters of the town to embrace him as he possesses the necessary skills and experience to steer the ship of the town for more positive development.
In his acceptance speech, Oba Lawrence Adebajo called on his people to give him the needed support in moving the town to an enviable height.
