Ogun CP Frowns at Criminals, Warns them To Desist
The newly deployed Commissioner Of Police in Ofun State, CP Sikiru Lanre Bankole has advised criminals in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government to desist from the act otherwise face the wrath of law.
Ogun State CP, Lanre Bankole made this statement at Olota's palace during a familiarization tour saying there has been synergy amongst the security agencies which in no doubt has reduced criminality in the area to the bearest minimum.
“It is my candid advice for the criminals to have a rethink and join others in doing good work for developing the society or relocate before the long arm of the law catches up with them”, CP Bankole said
According to CP, the security agencies will not relent in its efforts at fighting criminality adding that the presence of the security personnel in this occasion with the support and readiness of the communities to work with the police are clear indication that we will succeed in achieving success in effective and efficient policing.
He further stated that It will be understatement to say I am very delighted to be in your midst today. I feel very much at home. I served here as DPO and I can tell you, I know the terrain. I am very happy to see the working synergy of the security personnel.I had directed all DPOs to print their telephone lines on the doorposts of their offices for people in the community to have direct access to them. This would limit the number of complaints he has to deal with in the Headquarters in Abeokuta", Bankole added.
Earlier speaking, Sango/Ota Police Area Commander, ACP Muyideen Obe, in his welcome address, said people in Sango/Ota Communities have been very vigilant in the fight against criminality, leading to crime reduction in the area.
According to ACP Obe, almost all notorious criminal gangs who have been terrorizing Sango/Ota environs have been smashed with some of their leaders presently on trial in the law courts in the state.
Some of the security personnel in attendance include :Ogun State Traffic Compliance, Enlightenment and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, represented by TRACE Area Commander Ajibade Adekunle, Vehicle Inspector Officer, Sango-Ota Division, Engr. Osukoya Paul Kehinde (ObaOmo), NDLEA Head, Ota Area Command, and Commanding Officer, Nigerian Navy School of Music, Ota, Lt Commander JAD Golu amongst others.
