Anambra election: Jubilation in Soludo’s house as APGA leads with over 99,000 votes

Supporters, on Sunday, gathered at the house of the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, as he leads in 17 of the 19 local governments where results have been declared so far.
In a video that surfaced online, supporters were seen singing victory songs and dancing.
Some of them were seen shouting “God did this”.
One man was heard in the video celebrating that “Isuofia (Soludo’s hometown) is on record to have produced a governor.”
While addressing the crowd, Soludo thanked them for their support.
It had been reported that from the 19 local governments’ results so far declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday, the former Central Bank of Nigeria’s governor won in 17.
With the results declared so far, Soludo leads his closest challenger, Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party, with over 45,000 votes.
The total votes for the parties are APGA -99,160; PDP -49,475; APC- 40,270 and YPP -20,292.
This is as election results for two local governments – Ihiala and Orumba North – are yet to be announced.
INEC officials at the collation centre in Awka declared that no election was held in Ihiala LGA.
