ADO-ODO/OTA LG COMMENCES PALLIATIVE WORKS ON ILO-AWELA ROAD



Ado-Odo Ota Local Government, under the able leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Adewale Sheriff Musa, has begun palliative works on Ilo-Awela road as part of the Local Government's road Intervention to relieve the people of the unfathomable hardship created by the deplorable state of roads in the council area.



The Council's department of Works and Housing, with the directive of the Chairman, has started filling up pot-holes from the frontage of the Local Government Secretariat downwards to tollgate to ensure free flow of traffic. The road, like many other roads complained about, belongs to the state government, however, because of the situation of the roads which has become unbearable for motorists plying, was one of the main reasons for acting promptly to make it motorable for motorists.



The Council Boss stated that the state Governor, His Excellency Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun, MFR, has started palliative measures on Joju road which is part of the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway being handled by Julius Berger to make passable for motorists in the interim before the firm handling the road completes it. This effort if His Excellency added to the reasons for the palliative measures on Ilo-Awela road.



Hon. Musa further stated that as the government and the people forge ahead in unison to make the society better, everyone owes a civic duty to take along a sense of communal development and patriotic responsibility devoid of destructive criticism to achieve societal goals. He also said that in unison there is nothing that cannot be achieved and in diversity there is little we can.



The Chairman appealed to the citizens of the council area to beby patient with government at the federal, state and local levels on the issue of deplorable roads as all hands are on deck to make life easier.
