THINK OF NIGERIA FIRST -- LG BOSS CHARGES YOUTHS
The Chairman, Yewa South Local Government in Ogun State, Hon. Lateef Salami has implored youths to always put the country first in their day-to-day activities.
Hon. Salami who gave the advice while playing host to members of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Yewa South Branch in his Ilaro office, urged the youths to at all times do away with acts capable of tarnishing the image of the country and imbibe attitudes that would engendered positive economic growth and social development of the country.
He encouraged them to participate actively in politics which according to him would give them the opportunity to take leadership role and contribute effectively to the socio economic development of the country.
"I sincerely appreciate your visit and I am very happy to welcome the future of the country into my office. Let me use this opportunity to implore you to always think of Nigeria first in every of your day-to-day activities. The development of our country is in the hands of us all, most especially you the youths.
"Do away with social vices that can tarnish the image of the country because, it determines the type of treatment we get from outside the country. So, always consider that in your everyday dealings and never shy away in participating in active politics as doing so will give you the opportunity to take leadership role and contribute effectively to development of our nation" he charged.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the youth body, Comrade Adebayo Adeyinka while congratulating the new Local Government Boss on his victory at the last election in the state, promised that youths would not relent at giving him necessary supports needed to succeed in office.
Comr. Adeyinka who during his address announced Hon. Salami as the Ground Patron of the youth body, promised that youths in the area through the body would always contribute positively and effectively to the growth and development of the Local Government, State and the Nation as a whole.
