Gunmen attack two police stations, kill constable in Akwa Ibom

Unknown gunmen have reportedly kidnapped three workers of the former president Olusegun Obasanjo at a village in Abeokuta on Wednesday .
A source told our correspodent on Wednesday evening that the gunmen waylaid three workers at the Obasanjo holdings in Kobape in the Obafemi-Owode local government .
Also, four armed Fulani herdsmen reportedly kidnapped a retired lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic ,Ofa, Kwara state , Fasasi Olanigan in Ogun state .
Olanigan was reportedly abducted on Wednesday on the Imasayi-Isaga road in Joga ,Yewa-North Local government area of the state .
On Obasanjo’s workers abduction, the source who pleaded anonymity said the workers abducted are ; Financial controller , Group Auditor and group store manager .
The source said they were abducted around 4:pm at Seseri village after their Hilux car was shot at by the Gunmen and took them away .
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state ,DSP, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident .
Oyeyemi said the incident happened on Wednesday around 6:pm .
He said ” Yes, it happened today around 6:pm . There is Obasanjo farm around the area in Kobape .
“Our men have begun searching for them and we will ensure they are rescued.”
Also , the wife of the retired lecturer, Mrs Ireti Olanigan told our correspodent that her husband was kidnapped two hours after he left his home in Abeokita for Ijoga area .
She explained that the news of her husband’s abduction got to her through the man that travelled with him after he escaped from the kidnappers .
She said “two hours after he left home, the person that went with my husband came to me and said he has been kidnapped .
“He was kidnapped on the Joga road by four Fulani herdsmen fully armed .
” I was told that as he was being dragged into the bush someone came and shouted thief, so, the other person escaped while they took my husband away into the bush .
“I have gone to the scene and the hunters have helped me to search the bush but they could not find him .
” I left the spot to report to the police at Lafenwa police station and when I went back to the spot , I did not see my husband’s car that was abandoned . I was told police have come to take the car.
When contacted for reaction , the Police Public Relations Officer in the state ,DSP, Abimbola Oyeyemi said he had not been briefed .
He however please for time to contact the Divisional Police Officer of the area and get back to our correspodent .
Oyeyemi had not got back as of the time of filing this report .
