SUNDAY IGBOHO WEEPS
Yoruba Nation Protagonist, Sunday Adeyemo widely known as Sunday Igboho cries and wails as his hands are being tied and chained in the Benin Republic Cell. Sunday Igboho Lawyer Chief Yomi Aliyu (SAN) claims that Igboho is being tortured in Benin jail. Chief Yomi also said Igboho has been weeping because he was chained and handcuffed in the same hand where he was hit during his arrest.
"They hit him in his hand and the same hand was handcuffed. He is in pain and he was weeping like a child when I called. I heard him" Sunday Igboho was arrested alongside his wife late Monday, July 19 2021 at the Benin Republic after being declared wanted by the DSS after his home was raided on July 1. He was on his way to Germany with his wife when he was arrested.
Aliyu also claimed that Igboho is being tortured by his captors and routinely dehumanized. "He was crying, the wife was also crying too as he was writhing in pains seriously. we only pray that they don't pay anybody to kill him. you don't put somebody in a cell and still chain the person. you know he sustained an injury and they didn't take him to the hospital for treatment.
"We heard that he is appearing in court tomorrow but I don't know whether they will carry it out" The lawyer who is so concerned about igboho said the wife was put in a separate cell but wasn't chained like the husband. if Sunday Igboho is extradited, he faces charges bordering on treason, unlawful assembly and incitement.
